Anna is a nursing instructor at Pratt Community College, but several years ago she was a struggling single mother of two young children.
During a recent visit to the Guadalupe Clinic with her students, Anna shared her story. “I was trying to do things on my own and I was uninsured,” she recalled. “I had no family in town and I didn’t have any money.” She came to the Guadalupe Clinic for medical care.
“What I remember most is how I was cared for. They showed me such compassion and I never felt ashamed of having to ask for help. I was treated as a regular patient, just as if I had insurance,” she continued. “They helped me regain my self-esteem at the lowest time in my life. My prayers, my faith and Guadalupe Clinic helped me through that time.”
